Gotye genomineerd voor drie Grammy Awards

De populairste genomineerden waren de New Yorkse Indierockers Fun, die met hun hit 'We Are Young' dit jaar de hitparade hebben gedomineerd. Zij zijn in alle belangrijkste categorieën naar voren geschoven: beste nieuwe artiest en song, plaat en album voor het jaar met 'Some Nights'.

Er waren ook zes nominaties voor Kanye West, Jay-Z, R&B ster Frank Ocean, gitarist-zanger Dan Auerbach van rockband The Black Keys en de Britse folkrockband Mumford & Sons.

Ocean dook op in drie van de vier topcategorieën: beste nieuwe artiest, plaat van het jaar ('Thinkin About You') en album van het jaar met 'Channel Orange'.

Gotye
De andere genomineerden voor plaat van het jaar, een prijs voor het geluid en de productie van een plaat, waren The Black Keys ('Lonely Boy'), Kelly Clarkson ('Stronger What Doesn't Kill You'), Gotye ('Somebody That I Used To Know') en Taylor Swift ('We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'). Daarnaast heeft Gotye samen met Kimbra een nominatie in de wacht gesleept voor beste duo/groep en eentje voor beste alternatieve album met 'Making Mirrors'.

Nog in competitie voor album van het jaar zijn The Black Keys ('El Camino'), Mumford & Sons ('Babel') en Jack White ('Blunderbuss').

Genomineerden voor beste vocaal popalbum zijn 'Stronger' door Clarkson, 'Ceremonials' van Florence + the Machine, 'Some Nights' van Fun., 'Overexposed' door Maroon 5 en 'The Truth About Love' van Pink.

De Grammy Awards worden op 10 februari toegekend in Los Angeles. Vorig jaar was de Britse Adele met zes onderscheidingen het prijsbeest. Hieronder de volledige lijst met nominaties.
